Academics

One curriculum. Four stages. A lifetime of foundation.

From a toddler's first day in Early Years to a teenager's IGCSE — every stage builds deliberately on the last.

Our Curriculum

British Curriculum. Cambridge Standards. Pan-African Soul.

We deliver the full British Curriculum — from EYFS to IGCSE — enriched with African history, languages, and civic studies, so learners graduate fluent in global standards and rooted in who they are.

At Haven Hybrid Springs, our curriculum follows the British National Curriculum, aligned with Graveney School (UK), guiding learners from Early Years through to IGCSE. This internationally recognised pathway provides strong academic foundations, subject mastery, and essential life skills. For term dates and school holidays, we align with the Braeburn schools calendar to ensure consistency within the local education context.

Learning Approach

How we actually teach, day to day.

Inquiry-Based Learning

Learners ask questions and investigate answers themselves, building understanding that sticks — not just facts memorized for a test.

Mixed-Ability Mentoring

Older learners mentor younger ones weekly, deepening their own mastery while building empathy and leadership.

Project-Based Units

Every term includes a cross-subject project connecting classroom learning to real Kenyan and global contexts.

Flexible Pacing

Within each class, teachers adapt pace and support to the individual child — our homeschool-sized classes make this possible.

Assessment

How we measure real progress.

Assessment at Haven Hybrid Springs is a conversation, not a verdict — designed to inform teaching, not just rank children.

Continuous Formative Assessment

Teachers track progress weekly through observation, classwork, and short checks — not just end-of-term exams.

Cambridge Checkpoint Exams

Years 6 and 9 sit official Cambridge Checkpoint assessments, benchmarking learners against global standards.

Learning Portfolios

Every learner keeps a growing portfolio of work, reflections, and projects reviewed each term with their family.

Termly Parent Conferences

Face-to-face conferences every term ensure no parent ever learns about a challenge from a report card alone.
